When you open Pulse, a check is run on all 'Live' staff to find anyone who has a birthday today. On Fridays this will also check for anyone who has a birthday on the upcoming weekend.

If you click 'Yes' here it will open the birthday messaging window. If you click 'No' you can always open the birthday messaging window manually by going to File > Birthday Messages at any time.

Once opened it will display a list of the staff with birthdays found by the system

The message template you provided has already been loaded in. (Please note this cannot be changed here as it relies on a set structure for the message. Another thing to note is the messaging system will strip out any special characters including emojis, so these won't be included on the message when it is sent).

You can click 'Send Today's Messages' and it will attempt to send the message to everyone in the list. This window uses the same messaging checks as the rest of the system so if it finds a blank/incorrect mobile number it will let you know and they will be marked in red.

If the message was sent successfully it will mark them green

On a Friday, if the system has found any birthdays which land on Saturday/Sunday it will display the list of these staff members under 'Weekend Birthdays'

Clicking 'Send Weekend Messages' will then attempt to send out the differently worded weekend message to all staff in that list.

To edit the message that will be sent go to Communication-> Std Letters select either txtBirthdayWD.rtf to edit the today birthday message or txtBirthdayWE.rtf to edit the messages for birthdays over the weekend.
